Playing Information
We have a lawn that allows a full size croquet lawn, but is normally laid out to accommodate 2 smaller lawns, which allows more people to play.
We usually play Golf Croquet which is a quicker and more sociable version of the game.
Croquet can be played 7 days a week dawn till dusk.
You can book to play on a booking system.
There are maintenance sessions when the lawns are not available, club sessions and matches and tournaments. These are all identified on the booking system.
Club Sessions are scheduled for Tuesdays 3.00 – 5.00 pm and Sundays 2.00 – 5.00 pm. Everyone welcome . Please record on the booking system your intention to attend a club session.
All members have a key to facilities, access to club equipment and can bring guests for the visitor fee.
The club has all the equipment needed to play – balls, mallets, hoops etc.
Members help other members learn to play and you will soon pick it up.
Fees for the year from 1st April are £66.00. In addition, unless you have your own public liability insurance, you will need to join the Croquet Association at an annual cost of £9.00 which will afford you the necessary cover.
Visitors fees are £2.50 per person per session (2 Hrs).
Croquet can be played at any time subject to the weather and conditions underfoot.
Buxton Croquet Club is a not for profit organisation and all payments are a contribution to the cost of maintenance and improvement of the ground.
