PLAY
How to play as a visitor or as a member.
Visitors
We’re always keen to meet new players and to introduce them to croquet.
Whether you’re an absolute novice or if you’ve played before in the back garden, we have open days and introductory courses to suit you.
Come along and have a go – no equipment is needed as we have a stock of mallets and other equipment for you to try – and we’ll give you the basic instruction you’ll need to get started. All you need is a pair of flat-soled shoes.
“I enjoyed meeting and playing with all your warm and welcoming members. A fun and a great place to play a friendly game of croquet!!”
– Bernadette, visitor

Introductory Course
We hold an introductory course for new members every July and for those who want to get the most out of the game.
The course is free to members, and will take you through the basics of techniques and skills required to enjoy the game at a competitive level.
Our initial focus is on getting the basic skills needed for golf croquet. After six lessons you will have received a good introduction to both golf croquet and association croquet.
“It’s been so nice to learn new skills and keep active, as well as enjoying the social side of being a member of the club.”
– Susie, member
